    Chapter 9 on the Weather Model really brings out the point that weather science is not an exact science, even in our day in time. Meteorologists the world over are openly confused about weather anomalies they can’t explain. Strange weather is often blamed on global warming alone. The article I copied/pasted below by weather.com really brings this point home.

    Some of the strangest weather anomalies of 2016 mentioned in the article was the Thanksgiving hurricane landfall in Central America, snow in Mississippi while high pressure was parked over the state and the North Pole experiencing warm weather while Siberia was simultaneously experiencing a cold spell.

    Jenny, I really enjoyed the article you shared that shows all of those random anomalies about our Earth’s weather. It really goes to show how much we need the Universal Model to help the meteorologists and everyone understand how these strange acts of nature happen. Chapter 9 of the UM will impact so much of the science world and is a fantastic resource to figure out what the actual mechanisms are that cause weather.
