UM Rock Show tours will be given on February 2nd, 3rd, 9th and 10th of 2018. Two three hour tours are available each day from 8-11am and 1-4pm. Ticket prices are for adults 18 years and older and children 17 years and younger are free. We have also decided to give a tour on Friday, January 26th, for those attending the Saturday FIRM Conference. We will be taking people to two different locations in the morning and afternoon each day plus to our UM booth during lunch time break, which is in a large tent at 601 W Simpson Street, Tucson, where you can buy lunch and we will have another short tour of our own tent if you are interested. In each location you could easily spend a whole day, especially if you really want to learn about everything. So these tours are really introducing various locations and explaining how they impacted research in the Universal Model by showcasing various dealer’s products from all around the world. There are several dozen events all around the city of Tucson and it is impossible to take it all in even if you have a couple weeks. Yes, the world comes to Arizona to see, feel, touch and learn about rocks, minerals and fossils!
In the future we will are planning Arizona tours of the Grand Canyon, Arizona Petrified Forest, the Arizona Hydrocrater (‘meteor’), Monument Valley and other Arizona sites discussed in the UM. Utah tours are also expected in the future.
Before we start each tour in Tucson, we will talk about some of the items we will be looking at in various booths and showing where they are discussed in the UM Volume I and why they are evidences for the UF. We will also discuss some of the pricing and this is where you get 20 years of our experience going to shows, finding out where the best deals are! Make your plans early as hotels in the area fill up early.
